On December 2, 2014 Mieczysław Struk was elected again the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship. In the previous fourth term of the Self-Government of the Pomorskie Voivodeship Mr. Struk also held the function of the marshal. He was born on 1 January, 1961 in Jastarnia. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Tourism and Recreation at the University of Physical Education in Wroclaw. Mr. Struk completed postgraduate studies in organization and management and European integration at the University of Gdansk and 3 -year doctoral studies at the Faculty of Management and Economics of Services at the University of Szczecin. Since 1990, for 12 years he was the mayor of Jastarnia, and since 1999 Mieczysław Struk has been a councillor for the Sejmik of the Pomorskie Voivodeship. During 1999-2002 he was the chairman of the Audit Committee, and in 2002-2005, the chairman of the Development Strategy and Policy Planning. He was the co-initiator and the Chairman of the Board of Municipal Federation of Municipalities.
Mr. Struk co-organised environmental investments, i.e. a comprehensive solution water-sewage economy of the Hel Peninsula and the Gulf of Puck, the project to build bicycle paths around the Gulf of Puck, a project of building a network of yachting and fishing marinas, and the availability of military fortifications for tourists. Mieczysław Struk is also a promoter of the northern Kashubian culture and the Baltic Sea fishery. He is also the winner of the Grzegorz Palka award, the so called local government Oscar prize. He is married and has two daughters. Mr. Struk is a member of the Civic Platform and the Kashubian-Pomeranian Association. He is a qualified yacht and motorboat captain.
